According to Col. Henry Sabare, commander of the Philippine Army's 703rd Bigade elements of the 3rd Mechanized Brigade and the Camiling Police encountered about nine NPA rebels last Tuesday at 10 pm.
According to the news the clash between the government armed forces and the NPA lasted until 6 am, Wednesday.
It was said that seven suspected communist rebels, including a female fighter, were killed in the firefight and the the operating government troops recovered seven high-powered firearm.
Although there were no other reported casualties, Armed Forces Northern Luzon Command public affairs officer Capt. Gina Daet said that the pursuit operations are still ongoing
UPDATE: According to relatives living very near the area of the gun fighting, they saw at least 30 rebels pinned near the Pavilion which is across a rice field.
