“Barya Mo, Laya Ko”, for the Freedom of Joseph Urbiztondo

This is touching, Filipino organizations in Kuwait are trying their best to help free from prison a fellow Filipino who allegedly killed a Bangladeshi.

Joseph Urbiztondo was arrested on July 6, 1996 for the crime and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Urbiztondo, 41 yrs old and a native of Bacoor, Cavite has been in jail in Kuwait Central Jail for 16 years now. However, Urbiztondo claims that he was framed.

DFA warns Filipinos in Syria alert level raised to 3

Due to the increasing violence in Syria, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has raised the alert level in the country to 3, which means all Filipinos working and residing in Syria are urged to voluntarily leave the country.

Although the Philippine government has not heard of any Filipinos harmed in Syria, it would not wait for any untoward incident to happen before a plan is put in place.

Pinay domestic helper accused of stealing a wedding ring worth P4.3 million

A 29-year-old Pinay domestic helper is Saudi Arabia is being accused of stealing a wedding ring worth SR375,000 (P4.315 million).

The Filipina maid was referred to a court in Dammam and the case was filed on June 29. The Pinay DH was said to be detained at the Dammam Central Jail for five days.




Stamping "Exit Only" on passports no truth said Philippine Embassy in Riyadh

Reports regarding the stamping of "Exit Only" on passports of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) returning in the Philippines for vacation are not true, said the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh.

The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh advised OFW's not to believe in the unconfirmed stories of vacationing OFWs whose passports were said to be stamped with "Exit Only."
