Pinay domestic helper accused of stealing a wedding ring worth P4.3 million

A 29-year-old Pinay domestic helper is Saudi Arabia is being accused of stealing a wedding ring worth SR375,000 (P4.315 million).

The Filipina maid was referred to a court in Dammam and the case was filed on June 29. The Pinay DH was said to be detained at the Dammam Central Jail for five days.

The recruiter of the Filipina maid already sent its report on the case to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) Adjudication Division.

Meanwhile, regional coordinator of Migrante-Middle East, John Leonard Monterona said the maid had called him on Monday to ask for assistance.

Monterona said the maid insisted that she did not steal the ring because she had no permission to enter her employer's bedroom where the ring was supposedly kept.
