Philippine Weather Update: ITCZ affecting Visayas

Search a couple of news websites to somehow explain to me why I was late for work last Tuesday due to a heavy rain on Monday morning, and here are some of the answers I got.

GMA News: PAGASA forecaster Jun Galang in an interview on dzBB radio said that Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon is expected to have "generally good weather" except for rain showers of thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.

However, Western sections of Mactan, Cebu, Panay and Negros including Iloilo and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies and rains due to ITCZ or Inter Tropical Convergence Zone.

PAGASA 5:00 a.m. Weather Bulletin: "The western section of Visayas and Mindanao will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening,"
