Typhoon KAREN PAGASA Update

According to PAGASA, at 4:00 AM today, Typhoon KAREN was located at 740 KM East of Tuguegarao City with maximum sustained wind of up to 185 KPH near the center and gustiness of up to 220 KPH. Typhoon KAREN is forecasted by PAGASA to move North Northwest at 15 KPH.

PASASA estimates 15-30 mm of rainfall per hour within the 550 KM diameter of the Typhoon.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the eastern seaboard of the country due to strong winds generated by Typhoon KAREN.

Typhoon KAREN will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon that will bring light to moderate rains over Metro Manila and occasional moderate to heavy rains over CALABARZON, MIMAROPA and Western Visayas.

The Public and the Disaster Coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 p.m. today.
