Typhoon Lawin September 28 Weather Update

According to PAGASA on its 4:00 PM weather report, the eye of Typhoon LAWIN (JELAWAT) was located based at 365 KM Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes (23.7°N, 124.5°E) with maximum sustained winds of 175 KPH near the center and gustiness of up to 210 KPH.

Typhoon LAWIN is forecast to move Northeast at 17 KPH. Batanes Group of Islands will experience rains with gusty winds. The regions of Ilocos, Cagayan valley, Cordillera, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA and Metro Manila will be cloudy with occasional light to moderate rains or thunderstorms. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy with brief rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northwest to southwest will prevail over Luzon and Eastern Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southwest to west with slight to moderate seas.
