PAGASA Weather Report on Sept 15 about the LPA at Batanes

Weather update on September 15 shows that the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was located at 300 km East of Basco, Batanes according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA weather forecast said that the Northern and Central Luzon and the western section of Southern Luzon will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming cloudy with scattered to widespread rains over Batanes Group of Islands, Palawan and Mindoro Provinces.

Facebook friend rapes and rob a minor

Read a news about another rape victim - a 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by someone who she had met via Facebook.

The girl's name was not revealed, but she was named "Chean" and apparently Chean met the said rapist/robber through Facebook.

According to Chean, she met the suspect who she named "John Hill Bagsic" last August 15 through the social networking site then they decided to "eyeball" or meet with a person whom she doesn't know.

Typhoon Mina Friday Weather Update

Typhoon "Mina" was located 170 km East of Casiguran, Aurora on Friday, August 26 according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Bagyong Mina has maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph and is forecast to move Northwest at 9 kph.

Bagyong Mina Update: Tropical Depression Mina intensified into a Tropical Storm

According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical And Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), on Tuesday, August 23, Tropical Depression “Mina” has intensified into a Tropical Storm.

Tropical Storm "Mina" was estimated at 355 km East Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes with maximum winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

PAGASA said that "Bagyong Mina" is forecast to move North at a very slow speed of 5 kph.

World War II Filipino veterans may soon be officially recognized in California history textbooks for their contributions in the war after the United States Senate passed a bill to recognized Pinoy WWII veterans.

The US Senate passed the California bill AB 199, "Filipinos in WWII Social Studies Curriculum Act," with a 37-2 vote last Thursday (Friday in Manila).

Topnotchers of the 2011 Physician Board Exam

Majority of the topnotchers in the recent Physician Licensure Examination came from The University of the Philippines (UP) Manila, followed by the examiners from the University of Santo Tomas (UST).

However, the second examiner who got the highest rating from the August 2011 Physician Board examination results is from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM).

After a sting operation by the Medical Board of California, the West Hollywood Clinic of the celebrity doctor Manny Calayan was shut down after the boar received complaints regarding improper medical practice.

She also said that there is no blood shortage at the moment but, if the number of dengue cases continues to rise, there may not be supplies for patients who need immediate blood transfusions.

The Dragon Warriors wins the last event of the world championships, the Nationals dominated the 500 meter event in the men's small boat division, giving the Dragon Warriors their 5th gold medal.

Pinay domestic helper accused of stealing a wedding ring worth P4.3 million

A 29-year-old Pinay domestic helper is Saudi Arabia is being accused of stealing a wedding ring worth SR375,000 (P4.315 million).

Young actors struggles in real life after Harry Potter

Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, were only between 9 and 11 years-old when they were chosen for the parts of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermoine Granger.

The journey of these young actors began with the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in 2001 and will end 10 years later with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2.
