ABS-CBN Primetime Bida: Maria la del Barrio starring Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee

Maria la del Barrio is a 2011 Philippine remake of the Mexican telenovela, starred by the singer and actress, Thalia which was aired in Philippine TV back in 1996-1997 and a comeback on 2002-2003.

The Filipino version of Maria la del Barrio is an upcoming ABS-CBN drama and romance, starring Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee and is slated to air as part of the network's "Primetime Bida" offering.

DepEd suspends classes due to heavy rain and winds caused by Bagyong Juaning

Due to heavy rain and strong winds caused by the Tropical Storm Juaning, the Department of Education (DepEd) announced the suspension of classes on Tuesday in some areas in Luzon.




An Intensity 4 earthquake was felt in the city of Manila

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake hit parts of Metro Manila and Central Luzon on Tuesday at 1:15 a.m. according to the Philippine Volcanology and Seismology Institute (Philvolcs).

Azkals lost to Kuwait, 3-0

The Philippine Azkals lost to Kuwait in the first leg of their FIFA World Cup qualifying match which was held at the 25,000 seater Mohammad Al-Hammad (Qadsia Club) stadium in Hawally.

Kuwait murdered the Philippine Azkals, 3-0 starting with an opening goal from Yousef Nasser scoring with a header in the 16th minute that evaded goalkeeper Neil Etheridge's outstretched hands.




Suspect in the Norway bombing and shoooting incident faces charges related to terrorism

On July 22, 2011, Norway was struck by a national incident which is believed to be a terrorist attack when an executive government quarter was bomb and a shooting incident at a political youth camp took place.

The office of Prime Minister, Jen Stoltenberg was bomb along with other government offices. The bombing at Oslo, Norway killed seven people and injured several people.

MalacaƱang has declared dates of August 29 and 30, 2011 Non-Working Holiday, making it a 4-day long weekend for some sectors in the Philippines

The Palace has declared non-working holidays on August 29 (Monday) and August 30 (Tuesday) when the National Heroes' Day is celebrated on August 29 while the end of Ramadan falls on August 30.

Pinay domestic helper accused of stealing a wedding ring worth P4.3 million

A 29-year-old Pinay domestic helper is Saudi Arabia is being accused of stealing a wedding ring worth SR375,000 (P4.315 million).

The Filipina maid was referred to a court in Dammam and the case was filed on June 29. The Pinay DH was said to be detained at the Dammam Central Jail for five days.




Stamping "Exit Only" on passports no truth said Philippine Embassy in Riyadh

Reports regarding the stamping of "Exit Only" on passports of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) returning in the Philippines for vacation are not true, said the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh.

The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh advised OFW's not to believe in the unconfirmed stories of vacationing OFWs whose passports were said to be stamped with "Exit Only."

Military to conduct investigation on the pre-nuptial photo shoot incident

The military is investigating the pre-nuptial wedding pictorial which was done at the Libingan ng mga Bayani, said Commodore Miguel Jose Rodriguez.

Commodore Rodriguez said that the Army's Support Command will look into the incident where a couple decided to do their pre-nuptial photo shoot at the Libingan ng mga Bayani with a theme "Till death do us part."
