New CBCP President to lead the Church against RH Bill

New President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), Cebu Archbishop, Jose Palma is said to be a fierce opponent of the Reproductive Health Bill (RH Bill) and is expected to lead the Church's fight against the bill.

According to Dr. Rene Bullecer of Human Life International, Archbishop Jose Palma has already organized rallies to oppose the passage of the RH Bill and Archbishop Palma's election is expected to boost the CBCP's campaign to stop the RH Bill from being passed into law.

Archbishop Palma could also explain to the public that the Catholic bishops who asked service vehicles from former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo did not commit sin and had good intentions, said Fr. Prescilo Salomon of San Vicente Ferrer. The parish priest is also expecting Archbishop Palma to clarify the separation of the Church from the State.
