UP and Ateneo among the best English-teaching universities worldwide

According to 2011 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject, the University of the Philippines (UP) and the Ateneo de Manila University are among the top 50 best universities that teaches the English Language and Literature worldwide.

University of the Philippines ranked 34th and Ateneo de Manila ranked 35th at the 2011 QS World University Rankings by Subject.

UP and Ateneo bested other universities around the world, including the University of Manchester (43rd) in the United Kingdom and Georgetown University (49th), Dartmouth College (at bracket 51-100) and Fordham University (at bracket 151-200) in the United

The QS World University Rankings evaluates universities around the globe based on academic peer reviews, citations per faculty member, number of international students and faculty and student-faculty ratio.

The QS World University Ranking also evaluates the universities’ performance in teaching the following subject areas: Arts and Humanities, Engineering and IT, Life Sciences and Biomedicine, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences.
