The buyer of the Kia Avella, which was used in the car bombing incident and the other suspect who left the vehicle in the blast site have been accused suspects in the alleged attack against Maguindanao Governor, Esmael "Toto" Mangudadatu.
The suspect who left the Kia Avella at the blast site, identified only as Masdal, is already in police custody, said Police Director Felicisimo Khu Jr. of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations in Western Mindanao.
Meanwhile, according to Deputy Director General Nicanor Bartolome, acting chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), the other suspect was identified as Jay-R Reyes - the person who allegedly bought the Kia Avella.
However, the authorities believed that this "Jay-R Reyes" is not using his real name.
Bartolome said Masdal was identified through a witness, “there is a witness in the vicinity of the blast site who pinpointed or identified this suspect to be the one that left the Kia Avella before the explosion."
However, Bartolome refused to say if members of the Ampatuan family, the clan implicated in the Maguindanao massacre, are suspects in the bombing attack.
