Bagyong Mina Update: Tropical Depression Mina intensified into a Tropical Storm

According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical And Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), on Tuesday, August 23, Tropical Depression “Mina” has intensified into a Tropical Storm.

Tropical Storm "Mina" was estimated at 355 km East Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes with maximum winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

PAGASA said that "Bagyong Mina" is forecast to move North at a very slow speed of 5 kph.

According to PAGASA, the Eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon, Southern Luzon and Visayas will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

While, cloudy with widespread rains are expected over the Bicol region, Palawan and Western Visayas which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds is expected to blow from the Northeast to Northwest over Northern and Central Luzon and coming from the Southwest over the rest of the country.

Meanwhile, the coastal waters of the Philippines will experience moderate to rough.
