Controversial "Kulo" exhibit artist Mideo Cruz snubs Senate inquiry

The artist, Mideo Cruz, who created the controversial "art" pieces of religious images with phallic symbols, snubs the Senate committee inquiry on the "Kulo" exhibit at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

The Senate secretary said that an e-mail was sent to Mideo Cruz on August 10 inviting the artist for the Senate inquiry scheduled on August 16, although Cruz acknowledge receiving the e-mail - he however, did not say if he will attend.

The Senate secretary also said that Cruz has no longer responded to e-mails or phone calls after August 10.

Due to Cruz's negligence on the Senate inquiry, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Education, Arts and Culture, Senator Edgardo Angara will issue a subpoena for Mideo Cruz if the controversial artist will fail to show up to the hearing by 12 noon.
