Dragon Warriors triumphs in the International Dragon Boat Federation World Championships

The Philippine Dragon Boat team once again triumphed in the International Dragon Boat Federation World Championships in Tampa Bay, Florida by winning the last event.

The Dragon Warriors wins the last event of the world championships, the Nationals dominated the 500 meter event in the men's small boat division, giving the Dragon Warriors their 5th gold medal.

The Philippine Dragon Boat team who now has a total of 7 medals - 5 golds and 2 silvers, defeated in heat 1 opponents Japan and Trinidad and Tobago with a time of 2:38, advancing to the finals.

The Dragon Warriors once again stamped their class and defeated Australia, Japan, Italy and Puerto Rico, winning the gold for the Philippines with Australia in second and Japan in third.

The Philippine Dragon Boat team also set new world records in all of the events that they won: the 1000-m men's event, the 200-m men's event, the 500-m men's event, the 200-m mixed event, and the 500-m mixed event.
