Senate investigation over the lack of government support for the Dragon Warriors

Senator Pia Cayetano wants the Senate to probe the standards and requirements used by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) in accrediting and providing support to National Sports Associations (NSAs).

The Senate investigation will seek the reason for the lack of government support and non-recognition of the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation (PDBF) team that recently won 5 gold medals and 2 silver medals in the recent International Dragon Boat Federation World Championships in Tampa, Florida.

Senator Cayetano filed Philippine Senate Resolution (PSR) No.551 that calls for an investigation, in aid of legislation, into the non-accreditation and denial of support to the PDBF by the country’s national sports bodies.

Senator Cayetano also filed PSR No. 550, which commends the Cobra-Philippine Dragon Boat Federation Team, also known as the "Dragon Warriors," for its exceptional performance at the 10th International Dragon Boat Federation World Championships.
