Filipino OFW reported missing in Tripoli, Libya

An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was reported missing in Tripoli, Libya after Libyan rebels broke into the place where the Pinoy was working.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed the report when DFA spokesman, Raul Hernandez told the media regarding the report of the missing Filipino in Libya.

Hernandez said that the missing OFW is an employee of the British-owned, First Engineering Company, whose office and living quarters were broken into by Libyan rebels on Monday at around 2 a.m.

The DFA spokesman said that the Filipino caretaker of the said company went missing after the Libyan rebels ransacked the place - taking valuables, and the OFW - is assumed to be abducted.

Hernandez, clarified that the Philippine embassy in Libya is already exerting all efforts to get information of the OFW's whereabouts.

However, Hernandez did not mention any other details of the incident nor revealing the OFW's identity
