Tropical Depression Mina Storm Update Tuesday, August 22

According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the Tropical Depression "Mina" is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon and will bring scattered to widespread rains over Southern Luzon and Visayas.

Tropical Depression "Mina" was located 350 km East Southeast of Virac, Catanduanes and has maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center.


Tropical Depression "Mina" is forecast by PAGASA to move North Northwest then North slowly.

According to PAGASA, TD "Mina" will be located 470 km East of Virac, Catanduanes on Tuesday morning, 790 km Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes by Wednesday morning then 1,130 km Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes by Thursday morning.

Estimated rainfall amount is from 10-20 mm per hour within the 300 km diameter of the tropical depression.

PAGASA has not yet place any public storm warning signals at the moment.
